For as long as he can remember, Jonathan W. McConnell has been passionate about helping others. It’s the reason why he became a criminal defense attorney, and why he gives back to the community in all aspects of his life. This is why Jon continues his mission of service to Shriners International as a Noble, Perpetual Life Member, and Temple Attorney for the Midian Shrine Temple in Wichita, KS.
As a criminal defense attorney, Jon is dedicated to the Shriner cause of philanthropy and providing medical care to children.
“My father was a pastor and he instilled in me the importance of compassion for those less fortunate,” says Jon. “From an early age, I knew that I either wanted to become a pastor or criminal defense attorney so I could make a positive difference in people’s lives. I am extremely proud of my work with the Shriners Hospitals for Children through Shriners International. I am truly honored to serve such a worthy cause and lend my personal and professional services to the Midian Shrine Center.”
The Midian Shrine Center was founded in 1909 and is affiliated with both Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children. The mission of the organization is to provide the best medical care possible to children, and improve their lives through innovative research, education, and specialized treatment. With expert, family-centered care, Shriners Hospitals provide free medical care to children from birth to the age of 18. In 2012, the organization treated its 1 millionth patient since 1924. Shriners Hospitals provides treatments for spinal cord injuries, scoliosis, burns, orthopedic conditions, cleft lip and palate, club feet, and much more.
In addition to his contributions to the Midian Shrine Center, Jon also acts as the Temple Attorney. His practice is located in the historic Scottish Rite Temple in downtown Wichita.
