The law is a unique career path. There are only a few other careers that require the time, dedication and monetary investment that a law education requires. While some choose this career path primarily for the money, the reality is that a career in the law requires a dedication to something greater than one’s self.
While it is certainly possible to earn a very comfortable living by practicing the law, it is the lawyers who are in it to help others that will get the most satisfaction out of a law career and will likely be the most successful while having the greatest impact on their local community.
Jonathan W. McConnell entered the law profession for precisely this reason. Ever since Jon was a child, he watched his father, a local pastor, have a significant and tangible impact on the lives he touched. Jon found his own way to do this via a career in the law, and Jon has used his legal knowledge to help hundreds of his clients out of troubles when nobody else would or could help them.
Jon Recognized by Rotary International
Over Jon’s career, he has received numerous recognitions, including Top 100 Trial Lawyers, Top 40 [lawyers] Under 40, and Super Lawyers – Missouri & Kansas Rising Stars, among many others. He has also been admitted to numerous organizations, including National Trial Lawyers – Criminal Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice – Criminal Law Section.
However, one of the most meaningful recognitions has been the Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellowship.
The Rotary Club has been a positive force in the world for generations. They readily admit that their ability to impact positive change comes from those who support their organization, both monetarily and through other means. One of the ways they recognize those who have helped the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is through several recognitions and awards.
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is an indication and acknowledgment of the positive impact specific individuals have had on the Rotary Foundation’s operations — particularly their crucial Ambassadorial Scholarships program.
Jon was recognized by the Rotary Foundation for his ongoing support — both monetary and otherwise — by naming Jon a Paul Harris Fellow. This was a particularly meaningful recognition for Jon, since he has long felt that the work of the Rotary Foundation was very much in line with his own personal goals of helping those most in need within the community.
By becoming recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow, Jon joins the ranks of other notable fellows, which include (among many others) U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Russian President Boris Yeltsin, U.S. astronaut James Lovell, and UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar.
Jon is grateful for the recognition that the Rotary Club has given him, and he looks forward to continuing to contribute both his time and his efforts to the organization.
Ultimately, Jon’s goal is to help those who need it most. Whether his clients are wrongfully accused or simply need the best defense they can find, Jon is dedicated to helping his community.
