The McConnell Law Firm was a main sponsor of Zoobilee 2017, a fundraiser that helps keep Sedgwick County Zoo admission prices affordable and supports animal conservation initiatives in the wild. The Firm’s significant donation helped to fund beverage cups and volunteer shirts for the event.
“The Sedgwick County Zoo is an integral part of our Wichita community,”
said Jonathan W. McConnell, founding attorney at the McConnell Law Firm. “The Zoo not only brings families and the community together, but it supports field conservation programs and has successfully bred rare and endangered species.”
The annual event took place on Saturday, September 9 at the Sedgwick County Zoo. Attendees sampled food and drinks from local restaurants, enjoyed time at various pampering stations, listened to music from live bands and bid on items in a silent auction. The live auction was a highlight of the evening, when attendees were able to bid on the honorary adoption of Zoo animals, followed by a concert at the Zoo’s main stage.
“Being involved in Zoobilee is an honor,” said McConnell. “I look forward to sponsoring future events that benefit such great causes.”
According to the Sedgwick County Zoo, it is home to 3,000 individual animals of nearly 400 species. These residents are grouped geographically and in settings that duplicate their natural habitats. Exhibits include: Africa, Asia, North America, Tropics, Children’s Farms, Amphibians and Reptiles, Koch Orangutan and Chimpanzee Habitat, Cessna Penguin Cove, The Downing Gorilla Forest, Slawson Family Tiger Trek and the South America and Australia.
