About the Fraternity
Founded in 1869, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity is the largest college social fraternity in the world, with more than 200,000 living members, including more than 20,000 undergraduates and 320 chapters and colonies. The creed of Kappa Sigma is the Star and Crescent, which includes the call to be a gentleman, honorable, courageous, zealous, humble, intelligent, truthful, wise and one who “walks in the light of God.”
Prominent Kappa Sigma alumni include Robert J. Dole, Ted Turner, Robert Redford and Edward R. Murrow. The founding attorney of the McConnell Law Firm, Jonathan W. McConnell, is a Lifetime Alumni member of Kappa Sigma and has been recognized as One of Jackson’s Men, a recognition level for donors of the Fund.

Founded in 1919, the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund is the oldest college fraternity foundation. The Endowment Fund supports the charitable and beneficent purposes of Kappa Sigma, providing essential support for the Fraternity’s top educational and leadership priorities.
