The McConnell Law Firm has chosen to support the Kansas Humane Society, a non-profit animal shelter that has served the Wichita community since 1888. They make it their mission to act as a community resource for both pets and people, rescuing abandoned or homeless animals, and enhancing the human/animal bond. The services they provide to our community include animal adoptions, spay/neuter services, training and behavior consultations, pet supplies, youth education, and community outreach.
“The Kansas Humane Society helped nearly 16,000 animals in 2018,” said Jonathan W. McConnell, the founding attorney at the McConnell Law Firm. “They provide a tremendous service to animals and, by extension, the people who love and care for them.”
Even more impressive, as a non-profit organization, the Kansas Humane Society receives no federal, state, or local tax money, assistance from the Humane Society of the United States, or monetary support from the United Way. They provide all their services through private donations and service fees.
“The Kansas Humane Society has nearly 1,500 volunteers contributing an average of 80,000 volunteer hours a year,” McConnell said. “We love that so many have joined KHS to help provide a safe environment for the shelter pets waiting for a loving home.”
