With a focus on fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in the next generation, the McConnell Law Firm supports Youth Entrepreneurs of Kansas and Missouri. Founded in 1991 by Charles and Liz Koch as an eight-week course, Youth Entrepreneurs gives high school students the ability to gain the experience and confidence to achieve their career goals.
“Youth Entrepreneurs holds a special place in my heart because I participated during my time at Heights High School,” said Jonathan W. McConnell, the founding attorney at the McConnell Law Firm. “I appreciate that it sets young people down a path of career confidence with a yearlong, accredited business-oriented curriculum and gives them the opportunity to experience business scenarios based on real market-based scenarios.”
In providing students with invaluable experience, the organization espouses eight core values to help its students and alumni succeed. These foundational principles remind YE participants to focus on responsibility, integrity, cooperation, knowledge, and passion.
In 2018, YE served nearly 3500 students from 126 schools in ten states. Since August 2018, YE has expanded its presence to an additional 13 states with the goal to expand throughout the US.
“Youth Entrepreneurs has a 99% high school graduation rate, almost 20% above the national average,” McConnell said. “It empowers students with self-confidence to reach higher and succeed.”
